Zzina is to Dance.

I grew up going to a lot of house parties with my parents who had just migrated to the U.K from Uganda in the 90’s. Zzina means dance in Luganda, and these parties were where many African migrant communites would gather to enjoy the fine foods of back home, share resources and dance to the rhythms that transcended the hardships of being far from home and in a new place that was not very welcoming. I designed the first installment of KAKAZI Home wanting to honour movement and a culture of brining people together.
