Special Projects
Our collaborative projects create offerings for people to gather and reflect in imaginative ways that connect us to the past, present and future. Alongside KAKAZI Oral Histories, we work with individuals, galleries, brands and unique spaces to facilitate moments of intimacy, play and connection.
KAKAZI Oral Histoires
What began as a personal journey into trying to understand my heritage, my home and my healing, has evolved into KAKAZI Oral Histories—a space rooted in traditions of gathering and storytelling as a restorative practice for African and Caribbean diasporan people. In various forms and languages extending beyond the spoken word, encompassing the use of voice, objects, and images we intend to encourage deep and meaningful connections between people and places across time. Together we reflect, creating portals to the past, present and future stimulated by the sounds, textures and colours of our shared experiences and differences.
Currently figuring how or if integrating KAKAZI Oral Histories and KAKAZI studio as one digital home serves serves the project and my capacity better. In the meantime, visit the platforms digital gathering space and find out more by clicking on the button below.
